SUMMER BREEZE Festival, který se bude konat v německém městě Dinkelsbühl v průběhu 18. - 20. srpna 2011, přidal první kapely na soupisku line-upu. Mezi první potvrzená jména patří ARCH ENEMY, WITCHERY, KVELERTAK, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, PRIMORDIAL a THE HAUNTED.

ARCH ENEMY
They belong to the most popular and important bands in the entire metal scene, they are regularly found on the covers of European magazines thanks to their attractive blond frontwoman Angela Gossow, and they release killer album after killer album. We're talking about ARCH ENEMY! Their last studio album, ‘Rise Of The Tyrant’, was released over three years ago, but this hasn't diminished the Swedish-German collaboration's popularity in the least. Quite the contrary, as in the meantime the band led by guitar virtuoso Michael Amott have even found the time and boldness to conquer such exotic places as the Maldives. Being able to prevail on stage in a place like that, it will be an easy feat for them to bring SUMMER BREEZE 2011 crumbling down with their textbook melodic death metal. By the way, the band is feverishly working on a new album, which will hopefully have been released by August 2011.

WITCHERY
Please take a moment to contemplate the following line-up: Legion (Marduk), Jensen (The Haunted), Rickard Rimfält (Seance), Sharlee D’Angelo (Arch Enemy), Martin Axe (Opeth). So called metallers whose mouths are not watering by now can f**k off, just like those infamous lyrics command: “Wimps and posers, leave the hall!” With their new album “Witchkrieg”, WITCHERY have unleashed a high-class thrash/speed neckbreaker upon mankind, which wouldn't have even needed all the high-profile guest appearances (Kerry King, Gary Holt, Lee Altus) to absolutely kill. However, those guest solos are proof of how respected this band is within the metal scene. And WITCHERY will deliver further proof with their first appearance at SUMMER BREEZE, where they will open wide the gates of hell for your ears and eyes only.

SUICIDAL TENDENCIES
Again it's time to welcome a living legend at SUMMER BREEZE. SUICIDAL TENDENCIES from Venice Beach, California are one of the forerunners of the hardcore, thrash and crossover scenes. The band led by Mike Muir started out in the early eighties and for some time were considered public enemies number one due to their gang-like appearance. But this didn't stop them from making it into the charts in the US and in Germany, also thanks to tours supporting Guns 'n Roses and Metallica, until their temporary disbanding in 1995. Their fan base has been waiting for a new album since the year 2000, but this doesn't change the fact that you can look forward to a gig full of classics. Are you ready for a jump-mosh-pogo massacre? SUICIDAL TENDENCIES invite you!

KVELERTAK
KVELERTAK are currently at the tip of everyone's tongue. No wonder, as we'd never heard such an original, gripping, innovative mix of punk, sludge and black metal before. With their self-titled debut this Norwegians have delivered an album that could achieve something that no band has done since Mastodon: to lastingly influence a whole scene. And this is all done with a carefree LMAA hardcore punk attitude that leaves you dumbfounded... and obviously sung in Norwegian. It doesn't really get any less commercial than that. In KVELERTAK's case, however, there seem to be great things on the horizon. Why, you ask? Because this band kicks ass and provides the scene with a breath of fresh air it would actually have needed much earlier.

THE HAUNTED
THE HAUNTED are always welcome guests at SUMMER BREEZE. Does anybody remember their gig from two years ago, especially the beginning of their über-hit “99”? No? Then check out the SUMMER BREEZE 2009 DVD which comes free with the first 10,000 tickets for 2011 and witness frontman Peter Dolving stepping down from the stage into the audience to single-handedly splitting the crowd in two halves for a wall of death. Pure cult! The successor of the grandiose “Versus” album is about to put a big smile into the faces of all fans of timeless thrash metal with brains AND balls. Two years after their last appearance at SUMMER BREEZE, the band featuring the Björler twins (ex-AT THE GATES) is still guarantee for heavy grooving riffs and excellent live entertainment. “Heads off” will be the motto of this show!

PRIMORDIAL
With their masterpiece “To The Nameless Dead” PRIMORDIAL became one of the big winners of the year 2008. Only two years after its release, said record already enjoys the status of a classic within the pagan metal scene. The reason why can be checked out in DVD format since early 2010 on “All Empires Fall”. The band couldn't have captured their unique charisma and atmosphere and transported it into their fans homes in a better way. Far from short-lived trends, far from the empty shells of soulless commercial music, far from all cliches of the pagan scene and the whole metal scene in general, far away from everything that makes music turn into plastic nowadays, PRIMORDIAL have created their own sovereign territory, the boundaries of which will be expanded once more with the release of their new studio album in 2011. Enjoy one of the most authentic, honest and fascinating bands of our time!
