Novými kapelami, které jsou potvrzeny pro festival, jsou: KATAKLYSM, COMEBACK KID, AS I LAY DYING, ABORTED, YOUR DEMISE, ENSLAVED, EINHERJER, ROTTING CHRIST a THE OCEAN.

KATAKLYSM
The grand masters of Northern hyperblast are coming: KATAKLYSM! Compared to their last appearance in Dinkelsbühl in 2008, however, this characterization is only 50% accurate nowadays, as on their last three, justifiedly acclaimed albums, 'In The Arms Of Devastation', 'Prevail' and 'Heaven's Venom', the Canadians have mutated from a blast-heavy death combo to accomplished songwriters with varied songs. From the unbelieavably fast double bass attacks to the all-destroying slo-mo crushers and extremely catchy choruses, Maurizio Iacono and his cohorts have mastered all facets of death metal, which has made them into a nearly unbeatable powerhouse. Brutal, massive, KATAKLYSM!

COMEBACK KID
Old school cred + new school hardcore influences + a shot of straight-ahead punk = COMEBACK KID. These Canadians are among the most popular bands of the younger hardcore scene. Those who have seen them live know the reason why. When they play, furious bursts of rage and massive breakdowns go hand in hand with catchy choruses, and the band manage to keep up the energy level at all times. Gang shouts and melodic singalong vocals have a right to exist next to each other. Especially on their third and fourth studio albums, 'Broadcasting...' and 'Symptoms + Cures' respectively, COMEBACK KID proved they are one of the few hardcore bands whose music goes a little deeper, without loosing any of its mosh compatibility. Welcome for the first time at SUMMER BREEZE!

AS I LAY DYING
The American kings of metalcore are coming to blow SUMMER BREEZE to pieces! With their latest album ‘The Powerless Rise’ (number 22 in the German charts), AS I LAY DYING have once more cemented their status as absolute leaders of a scene that is deflating back to a reasonable, healthy size. On top of that, they are considered one of the most energetic live bands on the whole planet. In the last decade there has been no other US band that has conquered the hearts of the European kids such as the San Diego five-piece. Their latest albums ‘Frail Words Collapse’, ‘Shadows Are Security’ and ‘An Ocean Between Us’ are already modern classics which have served as an inspiration for legions of newcomer bands. Let’s headbang, mosh, thrash and circle pit into oblivion to anthems like ‘Nothing Left’, ‘Forever’, ’94 Hours’ and ‘The Darkest Nights’! AS I LAY DYING invite you.

ABORTED
And the merry slaughtering goes on at SUMMER BREEZE: Belgian butchers ABORTED have also confirmed their appearance. While at the beginning of their career they were known mainly for their relentless brutality, they have opened up their sound more on their latest albums ‘Slaughter & Apparatus: A Methodical Overture’ and ‘Strychnine.213’, making it a tad more accessible. A feast for all those who like their music to be a combination of brutal grind outbursts and heavy grooves. With their 2010 EP ‘Coronary Reconstruction’ the band has also proved that the recent line-up changes have not affected their uncompromising sound in the least. There will only be one motto for their show: Heads off!

YOUR DEMISE
Fancy some straight-ahead hardcore punk? Then the UK’s YOUR DEMISE are the band for you. Aggressive vocals, catchy choruses, massive breakdowns, the perfect balance between brutality and a perfect sense for melody. This band creates a hostile atmosphere and brings every pit to boiling point, no matter if with metallic double kick drum attacks or a simple two-step rhythm. The result is always the same: sweaty bodies piling up on each other. This is exactly the situation in which YOUR DEMISE feel most comfortable.

ENSLAVED
If you were to categorize ENSLAVED, the only option would be the densely populated intersection of black, pagan and viking metal. But this doesn't really do the Norwegians justice. Since the beginning of their career some 20 years ago, the band led by Grutle Kjellson and Ivar Bjornson has possessed a progressiveness and originality which remain unreached by many other groups for their whole existence. Best example would be their eleventh studio album 'Axioma Ethica Odini', a masterpiece of Nordic mythology, epic melodies and great compositions, which deservedly reached the first place in Metal Hammer Germany's 2010 writers' chart. ENSLAVED are miles ahead of all other bands treading the path of Norse mythology. Please welcome for the very first time at SUMMER BREEZE: ENSLAVED!

EINHERJER
EINHERJER belong to the veterans of the pagan scene who were already active when that movement didn't even exist as a whole. Up to 2003 the Norwegians pioneered a genre that enjoys an immense popularity today. Then came a shock for their fan base: The band members decided to go separate ways. However, the band reunited in 2008 to play a few selected gigs. But that wasn't going to be it, as a new album is now also in the making. A whole scene is exultant about the return of one of their founding members. We are equally happy to welcome EINHERJER at SUMMER BREEZE for the very first time. Attention, dear pagan/viking metal fans! If you want to know where the roots of your favourite sound lie, put a big mark next to EINHERJER on your running order!

ROTTING CHRIST
ROTTING CHRIST are an exceptional band. In the course of their 20+ year long career the Greeks haven't released two albums that sound alike. Mainman Sakis is one of the most creative individuals in the whole scene, leading his band from their black metal beginnings through a more experimental gothic phase up to some ambitious black/dark metal which made the group's last two albums absolute fan and press favourites. Try as hard as you want, you won't find another band comparable to ROTTING CHRIST. And this is what makes the band so precious in a time when many others prefer to just copy instead of leaving their own mark. So please give a warm welcome to Sakis & Co. so ROTTING CHRIST don't ever forget their SUMMER BREEZE debut!

THE OCEAN
It is almost impossible to put this Berlin sound collective into words! THE OCEAN relentlessly shatter the conventions of extreme metal, revelling in hardcore, competing with postcore icons such as Neurosis and Isis, and releasing the double whammy 'Heliocentric' and 'Anthropocentric' in 2010, a massive conceptual double album – with a fundamental criticism of Christianity at its core – unrivaled in times of soulless plastic music without a deeper meaning. The band, whose members currently reside in Berlin and Switzerland, have left far behind the boundaries of music for the sake of just entertainment and will present their audiovisual impressions as a “gesamtkunstwerk” at SUMMER BREEZE. Great stuff!
