Krátké info o kapelách v anj:
CRIMINAL
It's a mystery to us why CRIMINAL are still an insider's tip in this country. Fact is, this Chilean band, whose band members now reside in the UK and Spain, haven't released one single mediocre album since their formation back in 1991. More like the opposite: Especially their last two hate platters, ‘Sicario’ and ‘White Hell’, are absolute death/thrash masterpieces that destroy everything in sight and at the same time burst with songwriting excellence. Just listen to the über-hit from their last album, ‘21st Century Paranoia’! It's the perfect soundtrack to thrashing everything around you. 2004 was the last time that the band led by Anton Reisenegger (Lock Up, Pentagram), who in Chile are regarded as real superstars, crushed SUMMER BREEZE to bits – back then still in Abtsgmünd. In 2011, Dinkelsbühl is next! Superb!
ENGEL
In Flames, Gardenian, Passenger, The Crown, these are all tuneful names from the Swedish metal scene that have become internationally successful. But what would happen if musicians out of these bands joined forces in one single group? Exactly, it would be a band whose style could be described like this: As heavy as necessary and as catchy as possible! ENGEL's modern metal songs oscillate between Swedish melodic death metal on the one hand, singalong choruses on the other, and industrial coldness in the middle. Since landing the “Demo of the Month” in Rock Hard Germany five years ago, the band has risen to the upper third of the modern metal scene with only two albums. It's not far all the way to the top now. Their SUMMER BREEZE debut will be one more step in this direction.
FACEBREAKER
Insiders already know it, but everyone else should take note too: With their new album 'Infected', FACEBREAKER have probably delivered the best Swedish death metal album of the year 2010. Hailing from Finspang, Sweden, the guys hit you so hard – same as they did on their first two, equally recommendable albums – that the leaders of this scene should start to seriously worry about these new contenders. FACEBREAKER reduce Swedish death metal to its essential roots: a driving rhythm foundation, blood-curdling growls and massive riffs that crush spines as if they were made of potter's clay. This is the way this style was meant to be played!
DEMONICAL
DEEEAAATH METAAAL! Insiders have known Sweden's DEMONICAL for quite a while. Now it's time to introduce the band to the larger SUMMER BREEZE public. Since 2006 the band led by ex-Centinex member Martin Schulman has unleashed two merciless slabs of death metal on mankind that were made for headbanging. Grating riffs, ultra-evil vocals, driving grooves and loads of old-school attitude comprise the style of this textbook death metal band. By the way, the third DEMONICAL album is announced for 2011. So you can look forward to a lot of windmilling material, both live and on record. DEEEAAATH METAAAL!
SWASHBUCKLE
You love thrash metal and your favorite films are all episodes of “Pirates of the Caribbean”? Then you should look forward to SWASHBUCKLE, whose campaing of plunder will come to Dinkelsbühl for the first time to take your women, drink your beer and break your necks. Commodore RedRum, Admiral Nobeard and Bootsman Collins belong to the up-and-comers of the last two years with their two studio albums 'Back To The Noose' and 'Crime Always Pays...'. Although musically quite different and more extreme than Running Wild, they are the only band who can rightfully claim to be the successors of Rock'n'Rolf and company when it comes to pirate metal. At the end of the day, it's always better to sail under Jolly Roger. Yarrrrr!
TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED
Caution, duck down! British brutalizers TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED are about to undertake mass decapitations in Dinkelsbühl in 2011. Granted, there are a lot of extreme bands out there nowadays, but what these UK youngsters have unleashed so far on their three studio albums is the absolute epitome of violence made sound. There are blastbeats galore, even people with a high speed fetish will feel a little dizzy at times. However, TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED always manage to put nicely compressed moshparts in the right spots so all the pit fighters out there don't miss the beat. Not for the weak!
DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL
What's next after bands such as Neurosis, Tool and Cult Of Luna? Nothing? Wrong answer! In 2007 a band named DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL released their debut album 'A Fragile Hope' and have since then embodied an extraordinary link between the aforementioned bands and the hardcore/metalcore scene. The Britons' music is extremely emotional, with singer Ed's exceptional voice, the guitar section's epic riff walls and Paul Kitneys samples providing the atmospheric depth, making DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL stand head and shoulders above the rest of the young hardcore scene. Do you want to get rid of your soul too? Then come see DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL, as they provide the perfect soundtrack to the act of tearing your soul out of your own body.
VREID
Does anybody remember the glorious Windir, who unfortunately disbanded much too soon? For all those still mourning the loss, there is hope in sight: We are proud to welcome their successors VREID at SUMMER BREEZE! With their varied, open-minded black metal mix, VREID belong to the most interesting bands this genre has to offer nowadays. While some parts are reminiscent of their legendary precursors, VREID manage to incorporate lots of original ideas and wonderful changes of atmosphere into their music. With these Norwegians, old and new go hand in hand. By the way, their new album is scheduled to appear in early 2011. A feast for black metal fiends!
THE SORROW
There is fine metalcore in Austria too. Best example is THE SORROW from Vorarlberg, Their third, self-titled album came out recently and follows the same direction as its predecessor “Origin Of The Storm” (#56 in the German album charts). Melodic guitars, mean mosh parts, fine clean vocals, brutal shouts... THE SORROW definitely know their trade. Fans of Killswitch Engage, Unearth and In Flames can gather for a great melo-death/metalcore party. It's not surprising that THE SORROW were one of the few bands to survive the big metalcore wave and that they are still very popular. Deservedly so!
